Because in the comic, she's died. the fur around her belly is red too, to represent the cut that killed her.

actually I laughed at that for a good minute and a half, that was hilarious >w< <3

I'm glad you like it! technically the colors are exactly the same as always, I took them right off their refs o: But pair that up with soft background tones, lots of white, and change the lineart from stark black to a darker version of the cats color's themselves, then it creates that muted appearance!

I had a lot of fun playing aroudn with how to make the background too ;w;~

Oooh, wow! I normally don't mess with my dull black lineart--but it's cool to see what slight differences in colour can do to a whole piece! I MUST TRY THIS
